I’m investing at least €500 a month in the S&P 500

This year I started investing again (after all the stuff that happened over the last 2 years, when I moved to Switzerland, etc.).

I like buying individual stocks: I find it fun and I love the challenge of trying to beat the market. That said, there’s no guarantee I’ll do better than the market.

These past few months I’ve been investing in individual stocks, but I don’t have much time to research, and it’s clear my retirement plan can’t be counting on an inheritance.

What am I going to do from now on? I’m putting at least €500 a month into the S&P 500. I can put the rest of what I invest into individual stocks, Bitcoin, or the bar next door. With that amount, I make sure that, worst case scenario, I’ll have money when I retire.

If it turns out I don’t have time or I’m an extremely bad stock picker, the extra contributions go into the S&P 500 and that’s that.

We’ll see how it goes.

I'm moving back to Spain 🇪🇸 For those of you who missed yesterday's big news: over the next few months, I'm leaving my job in Switzerland and moving back to Spain to work on my projects full time. I have too many ideas and too much to do. And not enough time.
