Realizing you're the only one responsible for your life is scary; but it’s even scarier to let someone else steer. I’d rather crash it myself than have someone else steer it to a safe harbor.

I don’t respect myself more because I’ve accomplished things. I respect myself because I was able to achieve them by following my own path — even when everyone told me I was wrong.
Saving and investing are the ladder that connects social classes. Without them, it doesn’t matter how fast you run: you stay on the same rung.
I only know one sure way to get good at something. Spend time on it. A LOT OF TIME. More than anyone would consider reasonable. The more consistently, the better.
Update: a couple of days sleeping with the window open, a couple of days sleeping like a baby. I think the drop in temperature and the fresh air make up for the noise. t.co/6jifMCbax9
You can get "good enough" at almost anything with 20 hours of effort. The problem? Most people spend a decade putting off that first hour. 5 ways to get better at it:

The first hour is the hardest; that's why it's the most important. "The first time you go for a run will be the hardest; it only gets easier from there" There are plenty of arguments, but you don't care. You want to DO THINGS; that's what matters in the end.

1) Don't try (unless it's REALLY worth it) Ask yourself if it's something you really want to do. I mean it. Your time is valuable, don't waste it doing things you think you "should" do; or things that aren't in your top 3, or even your top 1.

2) Get over your fear of FAILURE. It's the student who doesn't study because they're afraid of trying and finding out they weren't capable of passing. There's no teacher who hasn't made a fool of themselves. It's natural and part of learning. Fear of not making it is the biggest symptom of paralysis.

3) Do TINY tasks When I have to do something that seems gargantuan, I freeze up. My method for getting unstuck is to write the dumbest list of micro actions and subtasks I need to complete to get it done. Sad but it works. The more specific, the better.

4) Find inspiration - (YOU'RE A MONKEY, it's not that hard) When I spend time consuming gym content, I feel like working out afterward. When I do it with entrepreneurship, I feel like starting a business. Your brain is that of an ape - USE IT

5) Get your life in order - also known as "make your f*cking bed" If you have 78 tabs open in your browser, your desk covered in papers and cups, clothes all over the floor -- or the metaphorical equivalent. You're not in a position to work. Fix that stuff first.

Bonus: Think before you act. It seems obvious, but before starting anything, the FIRST step should be looking into the existing theory. If you want to become a master house painter, a 5-minute video from a painter with 60 years of experience is worth GOLD Same goes for everything.
Going to the gym is one of the best ways to avoid burnout. Long-term mindset — we plan to be here for a long time.

I'm fucked. It happened again. A feeling that tightens my chest and keeps me from acting. Constant doubts about what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. My goal is a 4% hit rate, which means I'm going to fail 96% of the time; but my body rebels against my head. Every…
