Twitter as an acquisition channel is overrated

The vast majority of sales I get for Roast My Web come from SEO, just like they do for many other indie hackers.

Think about it: how many of @levelsio's followers actually use his products? Twitter definitely helps, but it's not the panacea many people think it is.

It's a great platform for getting feedback, finding inspiration, and connecting with others—but it's not as effective for sales as other channels. At least not in my case, though I recognize that some people have built incredible businesses mainly through Twitter.

In short:
People who share their entrepreneurial journey on Twitter don't get rich by being influential on the platform; they become influential because they build profitable businesses and share their experience.
