Molds democratize. And that’s a good thing.
But there’s something they’ll never be able to replicate.
A handmade vase bears its creator’s signature in its imperfections. It’s not better because it’s slower. It’s better because every millimeter was earned through attention.
Munger talked about building your own latticework of mental models. Not copying how others think, but building your own conceptual framework.
Same in software. You can copy the template and have something functional in hours. Or you can understand every decision, every trade-off.
The first gives you speed. The second gives you judgment.
And judgment is the one thing you can’t automate.
Molds are useful for getting started. But if you want to transcend, you’ll have to break the mold.
Get your hands dirty. Develop an intuition that only comes from hours of deliberate practice.
