In your hardest moments, you’ll be alone
In your hardest moments, you’ll be alone.
Not because you’ll be short on friends, a partner, or family.
But because your hardest moment will come when everyone goes to bed and you’re left alone with your thoughts.
Your hardest moment will be when, exhausted after weeks of nonstop work, you have to do it all over again tonight. It’ll be the moment before an important event, when everyone believes in you but you’re alone with your doubts. It’ll be when the problem isn’t out there, but inside you.
At the end of the day, you spend most of your time alone. In your head, with your thoughts.
And I don’t mean that as something bad or sad. I think it’s kind of beautiful.
“For the hermit, a friend is always the third.”
