It's hard to get out of your bubble.

For example: in my circle of friends, cheating on exams wasn't normal. Neither was shoplifting. And especially not in high school. So I more or less tacitly assumed it wasn't common.

Then the other day I came across these stats. For the US, at least.

A 2012 Josephson survey asked 23,000 high school students about their habits over the previous year. The result wasn't what I expected: 51% said they had cheated on an exam. And 20% said they had shoplifted.
