The best advice I got from a stranger
I remember a long time ago, maybe 7 or 8 years back, reading someone on Twitter saying:
“Writing on Twitter has changed my life. You reading this, do it. Put yourself out there.”
Back then, I barely used Twitter, and when I did, I was just an observer. I didn’t interact, comment, do anything.
At the time, it didn’t really make much of an impact on me.
But in the years that followed, I couldn’t stop thinking about that promise. The idea of serendipity, of putting yourself out there and leaving it to chance. That tweet kept coming back to me again and again. And that has value.
The same thing happens to me with books. Some barely make me react when I read them, but years later they still take up space in my head.
That’s when you know it’s something good. And this concept is.
“Put yourself out there and leave it to chance.”
It’s one of the best pieces of advice I’ve gotten from a stranger.
