After leaving my job, I was burnt out

After leaving my job, I was burnt out.

I had no ideas, I didn’t feel creative, and nothing particularly excited me.

I guess it was exhaustion, mental noise, and stress. I thought relaxing would bring all that back.

So I went to the beach for a week-long vacation. I felt better when I got back, but I was still a bit sluggish. No spark.

That’s when I started to worry. After a whole week of switching off completely, I still wasn’t quite okay. I still had paperwork to deal with, I had to get my life in order and get back to my habits and routines.

Another week went by. By the end of it, I was back at the gym, sorting out some problems, and genuinely happy. More and more so. And I think the sun helped too.

So I kept at it, and a third week went by. I still wasn’t completely okay. And don’t get me wrong: I was VERY happy. But I was missing that spark, that desire to do things, that creative state where ideas start popping up and concepts start coming together.

And I still wasn’t there.

Until a few days ago.

Three weeks after leaving my job, I can feel the desire to work coming back. I’m getting excited about ideas again and starting to see the opportunities clearly.

Fuck, I feel great right now.

I’m at that point where it’s hard to sleep at night because I want to keep working; where waking up gets easier and more exciting every day. Really good feeling.

I’m writing this just because it surprised me. I thought this would happen sooner, and I was starting to worry.

I think it wasn’t just a matter of time, but also getting back to the gym and rebuilding my habits.

But we’re back now. And I’m coming with new projects.

Now the good stuff starts! 💪
